Every purposeful masterpiece we see today is a product or protégé of some outstanding role models, whose lives have rubbed off on them in one way or another. Without mincing words, I, Oluwakemi Aya OBA, am a product of the great impact of this big Christian sister of mine and senior friend, Oluwafunmilola Otolorin.

My relationship with her dates back over 30 years, from the choir to the Lydia Auxiliary and the Baptist Students’ Fellowship of First Baptist Church, Ikeja. Among other Christian sisters I grew up with, Sister Funmi has always stood out in her zeal for Christ, humility, and character. Since we served together as executives of the Baptist Students’ fellowship, she has remained a constant source of support and guidance, inspiring me with her kindness, wisdom, and generosity.

Sister Funmi has been a blessing to me in church, school (The University of Lagos), and in The Ladies of Virtue Foundation for the Girl Child, which I run with other distinguished Christian women around the world.

When I joined the English Department at the University of Lagos, where Sister Funmi was my senior, she kindly accommodated me by giving me her bed space in the hostel and assisted me with past course materials to help me perform better in school. Her selflessness and mentorship have had a lasting impact on my life and ministry.

Sister Funmi has been a valuable counselor and facilitator in our foundation, addressing various issues related to females, from marriage to intentional parenting.

Her lifestyle and results are testaments to her character, making her a worthy role model. She’s resourceful, approachable, and accountable. Indeed, Sister Funmi is an outstanding role model of our time, and her best is yet to come. I look forward to seeing the continued impact of her life and ministry, as she shares her wisdom and experience with others.
